BREAKING: FOX News Reports New Healthcare Law to be made Public
The ACA aka Obamacare to be completely repealed and replaced.
The new plan has NO MANDATES.
Obamacare was not healthcare, it was a tax on those who could not afford it.
Details to come. coffeetime.gif

Man it's so effin' simple ~ open up health insurance across state lines and make insurance undeniable. wtf is so difficult with this concept?

The number of profitable insurees will outweigh the losers.

Aiming to deliver on their signature campaign promise after several election cycles trying to reclaim control of Washington, majority Republicans unveiled what they call the American Health Care Act. The sweeping legislation would repeal ObamaCare’s taxes along with the so-called individual and employer mandates – which imposed fines for not buying and offering insurance, respectively.

It also would repeal the Affordable Care Act’s subsidies, replacing them with tax credits for consumers.

Most health insurance comes from a handful of corporations that have split into smaller sertions to cover each state. BCBS for instance, is not actually BCBS. It is BCBS Florida, BCBS SC, BCBS Illinoise, etc. Open up interstate insurance coverage and they will all simply merge back into a single corp. I'm all for interstate ins, but I'm not sure how much it will help. I think the costs of some people will drop a little and the costs of some will increase. The problem is the actual cost of healthcare. Until they get that under control the issue will never be fixed.

And the people bowed and prayed

Kreeper,

You raise a great point ~ ins cos pay 'reasonable and customary' charges. The trick would be to level all the R&C costs for all. No reason a 'bigger' customer should get a better cost than a smaller customer, eh?

If that option smacks too much of a single payer scheme, then allow people to band together in numbers to form 'co-ops' to obtain purchasing power.

There are three elephants in the room.
The first one is called for profit healthcare.
The second are insurance companies.
The third is drug prices.
Until the elephants are poached and a single payer option offered to bypass insurance companies altogether... it's all SSDD.
Why the hell can't the US use a successful model like the Finish system?
Of course that's a rhetorical question, as the insurance lobbies have the politicians in their pockets.
I'm skeptical, this needs work.

It won't be passed in it's current form, they had to start somewhere.
On the upside, the mandates are gone.
Rand Paul has some good ideas that should be incorporated here, but like my previous post... nobody wants to talk about elephants.

Getting rid of the tax is a good start, but so far it seems an awfully lot like Obamacare light.
