We have bears and Lynx the size of German Shepards. Lynx are shy and never attack humans, there has only been 3 lethal Brown bear attacks in all of Scandinavia in the 20th century.
No problems, and we go out in the woods a lot.
What scares me is wolverines ... omg.gif
The trick is to make noise in the woods, the animals avoid you. We saw some fresh tracks of something once that had such claws, looked like Freddy Kruger with paws damned.gif

Damn those bears are tough animals...

A human hit the same way would probably have several broken bones at least...

And lucky if they were still alive...

If that cars bumper hit a persons head it would be lights out game over...

Nice to see the russians have animal/human safety barriers (fences) erected alongside their wilderness highways...

They must have used up all their fences enclosing hundreds of siberian slave labor/death camps instead...

And all their money trying to get to the moon...
