I recently took a "how to get yourself to start writing" workshop and each of us wrote down two opening lines to a story and handed one to the person on our left and another to the right...I ended up with "Me and my neighbour's vicious cat...". I hope you all enjoy the very short story.

Some of the words I couldn't read, but I got it chuckle.gif It ended with fine wine and a happy cat on drugs so it's all good. Not sure I'd come up with anything not retarded in 15 minutes. I did recently do an exercise in a class where you'd pair up and make a story by saying one word each. It ended up being a story about robotic pants that caught fire.

Okay I used "Ctrl +" to enlarge it, and I like it!
It's simple but would make a great children's story. hi5.gif

The instructor wanted it all to flow fast and natural in 15 minutes, so that is what I came up with. I read it to one of the women at my table and she liked it too, and I liked her story too, but hers was only 1/2 a page of writing. So I may have stored up lots of writing in me and it needs to get out.

I think that is an interesting exercise.

Thanks JR, if I know anything it's cats.

I have a couple children's stories in the back of my mind and they've been there for quite a while. Maybe the next workshop will be on how to write children's and young adult stories. There is so much to learn if you want to get published.

its funny how some cats are just NOT affected by catnip.
kittens dont seem to like it, ive noticed.

i had this one cat who would roll in the bleach water i used on the kitchen floor.
he would act like it was catnip~! literally getting sopping wet.
ive never seen that before wtf2.gif

OP, your handwriting is beautiful and you show literary talent all throughout your script..

a few words i could not make out but the story is just delightful.
thank you for posting it! cheers.gif

Yes, cats seem very attracted to bleach and ammonia for some unknown reason. My daughter just got a new kitten - well she's almost a year now - but the other week I sprayed the bathtub and shower walls with a bleach cleaner, which I do not do often, and I like to let is soak in for 10 minutes. Well didn't the kitten jump up there and start licking it - I chased her away and had to close the bathroom door - what a troublemaker. gaah.gif

Thanks, I really appreciate the critique from you and everyone else as it helps to receive non-biased criticism. As my instructor told us, it is important you ask the right people as some fellow writers' may be biased for many reasons. So, that is why I posted it here.

I'll bet some of the words you guys could not read are:  ineptly     nibbling    chomping slinked - those darn action verbs that I like to use.

Thank you very much. cheers.gif
