Hockey is the true national sport of Finland.
If you ask us, the people.
Nothing else in the cultural exchange between nations excite the Finlanders quite as much.
Whenever the senior national team plays in the Olympics, the entire nation shuts down and sits down to watch.
Junior World Champs like these are lesser events, but still get a lot of attention.

We're in the lead after the1st period against Germany, 1 - 0.

It's quite interesting to scout for talent yourself during these events. Even though I'm not a religious follower of these events I spotted both Valtteri Filppula and Sean Bergenheim during these tournaments, pre-nhl.

Hate to say it, but

Sweden seems to me to be the strongest bunch out there.
Bloody good discipline, excellent coaching, skilled players.
Killer power play, very good penalty killing.

My guess is the Russians will be in a world of trouble.
Ruble truble..? chuckle.gif

The Finns need a better coach. The team didn't deserve to go any further, sorry to say.
