Within this strange holographic void of ancient light that we call outer space...

There is no up and down there is no right and left there is no backwards and forwards there is just endlessness...

Quote: The majestically dark and doomy cosmic rocker 2000 Light Years from Home with some of the creepiest synthesizer effects devised by Brian Jones ever to grace a rock record.

It's a much better record than most people give it credit for being though with a strong current of creeping uneasiness that undercuts the gaudy psychedelic flourishes.

Quote: "Sun turning round with graceful motion, we're setting off with soft explosion"

"Bound for a star with fiery oceans, it's so very lonely, you're a 100 light years from home"

"Freezing red deserts turn to dark, energy here in every part, it's so very lonely you're 600 light years from home"

"It's so very lonely, you're a thousand light years from home, it's so very lonely, you're a 1,000 light years from home"

"Bell flight 14 you now can land, see you on aldebaran, safe from the green desert sands"

"It's so very lonely, you're 2,000 light years from home, it's so very lonely, you're 2,000 light years from home"

Can you imagine what it's like to do a spacewalk? The infinite void? All you know from mother earth a big blue marble miles under your feet?
I've often contemplated what it must be like to spend time in that alternate reality.
No gravity, darkness and most likely a million things that can't be explained that we're not told about "for our own good"
Nothing is as it seems. And why the hell does space smell like burned flesh and metal? God's barbeque?
Why did our ancestors sacrifice animals on metal to emulate that smell and make the gods happy?
We have some very strange and disturbing history.
I'm uncomfortable with who we are as a species.

Quote: "Space is dark it is so endless, when you're lost it's so relentless"

"It is so big it is so small, why does man try to act so tall, is this the reason deep in our minds"

"It does not feel it does not die, space is neither truth nor lie"

"Into the void we have to travel, to find the clue which will unravel, is this the reason deep in our minds"

"The secret lies with our tomorrow, in each of us is a hidden sorrow"

"The path goes onward through the night, beyond the realms of ancient light, is this the reason deep in our minds"

Quote: "We sail through endless skies, stars shine like eyes, the black night sighs"

"The moon, in silver trees, pours down in beams, light of the night"

"The earth, a purple blaze, of sapphire haze, in orbit always"

"While down below the trees, bathed in cool breeze, silver starlight breaks down the night"

"And so we pass on by, the crimson eye of great god mars, as we travel the universe"

Quote: "Spaced in time, child of nine, doing twenty years on the way, fire and steel, earth unreal, find another planet to stay"

"Papa died, ma survived, telling me about her ordeal and the soul she could not feel, cause they made her so unreal"

"Lightning years, disappears, twenty million years on my brain, synthesize, overrides, trying to keep from going insane"

"And my soul i can not feel, cause they made me so unreal, spaced enough to know i feel there's nothing out there"

"Spaced enough to know i feel i really don't care, spaced enough to feel i'm really losing my mind"

"And i'm never never never never ever going back, i'm off the track, no one even knows i'm alive"

"Spaced, without a trace, waiting for the word to arrive, i'm the last man to survive"

Hahahaha - it is precisely the same everywhere.

You know the center of the galaxy was there,
some 26 000 years ago.

And from every point,
it must look like Everything is/was/will be speeding
away into new potential, which must acceleratingly
fall out into function.

Betcha anything, the drama and the polarization
is/was/will be precisely the same on every planet
inhabited by human-level advanced races.

Civilizations evolved beyond the ego-drama, (not
that I am convinced they exist) are/were/will probably
not be all that interested in space travel, since they
realize the fractality of existence, and that spiritual
teaching cannot exist.

But who knows...

Quote: "Standing there alone, the ship is waiting, all systems are go, are you sure"

"Control is not convinced, but the computer, has the evidence, no need to abort, the countdown starts"

"Watching in a trance, the crew is certain, nothing left to chance, all is working"

"Trying to relax, up in the capsule, send me up a drink, jokes major tom, the count goes on"

"4 3 2 1 earth below us, drifting falling, floating weightless, calling calling home"

"Second stage is cut, we're now in orbit, stabilizers up, running perfect"

"Starting to collect, requested data, what will it affect, when all is done, thinks major tom"

"Back at ground control, there is a problem, go to rockets full, not responding"

"Hello major tom, are you receiving, turn the thrusters on, we're standing by, there's no reply"

"4 3 2 1 earth below us, drifting falling, floating weightless, calling calling home"

"Across the stratosphere, a final message, give my wife my love, then nothing more"

"Far beneath the ship, the world is mourning, they don't realize, he's alive, no one understands"

"But major tom sees, now the light commands, this is my home, i'm coming home"

"Earth below us, drifting falling, floating weightless, coming home "

Quote: "Ground control to major tom, ground control to major tom, take your protein pills and put your helmet on"

"Ground control to major tom ten nine eight seven six, commencing countdown, engines on five four three"

"Check ignition and may god's love be with you, two one, lift off"

"This is ground control to major tom, you've really made the grade and the papers want to know whose shirts you wear"

"Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare, this is major tom to ground control"

"I'm stepping through the door and i'm floating in a most peculiar way and the stars look very different today"

"For here am i sitting in a tin can, far above the world, planet earth is blue and there's nothing i can do"

"Though i'm past one hundred thousand miles, i'm feeling very still and I think my spaceship knows which way to go,"

"Tell my wife i love her very much she knows, ground control to major tom, your circuit's dead, there's something wrong"

"Can you hear me major tom, can you hear me major tom, can you hear me major tom"

"Can you here am i floating round my tin can, far above the moon, planet earth is blue and there's nothing I can do"

A perfectly intense song for this awesomely spaced out thread (*-*)

Quote: "Rocket engines burning fuel so fast, up into the night sky they blast"

"Through the universe the engines whine, could it be the end of man and time"

"Back on earth the flame of life burns low, everywhere is misery and woe"

"Pollution kills the air the land and sea, man prepares to meet his destiny"

"Rocket engines burning fuel so fast, up into the black sky so vast"

"Burning metal through the atmosphere, earth remains in worry hate and fear"

"With the hateful battles raging on, rockets flying to the glowing sun"

"Through the empires of eternal void, freedom from the final suicide"

"Freedom fighters sent out to the sun, escape from brainwashed minds and revolution"

"Leave the earth to all it's sin and hate, find another world where freedom waits"

"Past the stars in fields of ancient void, through the shields of darkness where they find"

"Love upon a land a world unknown, where the sons of freedom make their home"

"Leave the earth to Satan and his slaves, leave them to their future in their graves"

"Make a home where love is there to stay, peace and happiness in every day"

Like wow this profoundly haunting song is absolutely beautiful and amazing (*-*)

Quote: "There might have been things i missed, but don't be unkind, it don't mean i'm blind"

"Perhaps there's a thing or two, i think of lying in bed, i shouldn't have said, but there it is"

"You see it's all clear, you were meant to be here, from the beginning"

"Maybe i might have changed and not been so cruel, not been such a fool"

"Whatever was done is done, i just can't recall, it doesn't matter at all"

"You see it's all clear, you were meant to be here, from the beginning"
