A great movie, years ahead of it's time. I may have to revisit that again before long.

I try to re-see this unique masterpiece every couple of years, just like i do most of my other favorite films and many of them are like watching multi-dimensional moving paintings and just imagine,2001 released in 1968 was created without cgi...

Heres two images from deleted scenes taken out of 2001 A Space Odyssey after its 1968 premiere,i mean like what the f##k?! thats like cutting off one disciple from either side of the Last Supper and saying its okay, but whats awesome is how many of these deleted scenes, around 17 minutes worth, were recently discovered in perfect condition and in my and many other peoples opinions that lost and now found footage should be put back into some type of 2001 special edition asap!

Quote:Kubrick filmed several scenes that were deleted from the final film. These fall into two categories: scenes cut before any public screenings of the film, and scenes cut a few days after the world premiere on April 2, 1968.

The first ('prepremiere') set of cuts includes a school-room on the Lunar base, a painting class that included Kubrick's daughters, additional scenes of life on the base, and Floyd buying a bush baby from a department store via videophone for his daughter.
