The golf ball-sized variant I have seen only once, personally.
That was in the late 60's sumtin and I was maybe 5 years old.
And it was in July on a day that started out hot and sunny!
Will never forget the sight and the sound..!
We have had softball size hail, It wiped out our crops, busted all the windows out, shattered our roof twice with in the last 10 years, We get some mean weather here on the South Plains...This is the update for today, KJ and I took a ride out to Jones Stadium, Texas Tech Football, we went and watched their practice this AM, and it was raining, you could feel the hail in the air with the up-lift...Wish us luck tonight because it is going to get mean.
Severe thunderstorms are still expected to develop across eastern
New Mexico and move southeast across much of the South Plains and
Rolling Plains later this afternoon and evening. Large hail to golf
ball size, damaging downbursts and torrential downpours with minor
flooding can be expected with the strongest of these storms.
We want a Sam Burger...
Be back in a few.
