Powerball climbs to $675 million after no winners in draw

Quote:(Reuters) - There was no winner in the most recent Powerball lottery draw, the operator of the multistate game said on Thursday, with the jackpot now climbing to an estimated $675 million - one of the largest in North American history.

No Powerball ticket holder had all six numbers to claim Wednesday's $500 million prize, the Multi-State Lottery Association said on its website.

The jackpot will continue to increase, with the next draw to be held on Saturday, it said.

It says $500 mil, but it was actually $540 mil. The 500 figure was the estimated amount. Saturday's jackpot could easily surpass $700 mil.

I will definitely buy my ticket.

$2 for a chance to win that much?

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

Hell yeah that's a lot of money. I bet a cash payout would bring in $200 mil after taxes.

I don't play either, except with Grandma. We buy a scratch ticket about once a week, share the cost and the wins.

this was on the way to to bar one friday night eh.
anyhow so we get there and he buys me a big pitcher.

and then proceeds to pick a fight with me
so that he can have an excuse to leave and go do drugs for the night.

A lot of that will be RIPPED BACK in Taxes

in NZ --- the lotto is topped at 30 millyun , then if not struck its shared with the 2nd prise winners

PLUS theres NO TAX TAKEN out of any winnings

I never play the lottery as I'm content with the way things are now in my life. I've read stories of lottery winners who wished they didn't win as their lives changed forever and for the worst if you can believe that.. However there are also many happy stories out there on people who won the lottery and they were able to help their extended family and the community along with themselves. Imagine how may fake friends would come forward in your life if you won the lottery.
