İmage
Quote:Whether Brent Crawford has captured the world's largest alligator gar will never be known -- his scale bottomed out emphatically at 300 pounds and he filleted the prehistoric-looking fish after attempting to obtain its weight.

But this much is clear: The gar Crawford landed while bow-fishing recently in Texas' Lake Corpus Christi is among the largest specimens ever captured -- and it was captured in a manner like no other gar captured beforehand.

(The largest-known alligator gar caught while bow-fishing weighed 365 pounds. The largest caught on rod and reel weighed 279 pounds.)

I read that last night. That's one big bitch!

Ya know, they could have figured the weight of the fish using measurements. Just sayin...

The part that made me go wtf2.gif was when they said he filleted the fish. I had no idea you could eat them.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

JR, you've never seen an alligator gar? They are all over Florida. People down there have been bow fishing for them for a long time.

I wonder hoe old that species is. They would have to be prehistoric.

Looks related to pikes?

That is one heck of a lot of food, if any good to eat.

Pikes that big and old would taste like bark and sandpaper or something.
