A year ago I moved into a place up in nothern British Columbia, to be more specific the community was Pink Mountain, When I moved into the house started looking around and I came across a bunch of the previous owners stuff, I guess he didn't think they were important anymore...that's when I found a floppy disk with some interesting information on it. the following was only some of the information I thought was worth sharing at the moment:
==========================================================
Project: 3-52
Research class: Genetics
Status: Active
Number of subjects: 1 (formerly 10)
Current Location: Canada
===========================
Researcher in charge: Dr. James Abendroth
===========================
Purpose of project:
The creation of a living organism capable of surviving in harsh environments without use of protective gear.
Environment examples:
Radioactive zones
Heavily polluted or otherwise toxic locales
locales with limited oxygen

Success rate of project: 56.9%
==========================================================
Dr. James Abendroth's Research notes:
3-52 was a success despite the low percentage we were given, the remaining subject had exceeded expectations. When the subject was tested in environmental test chambers it scored full marks in survivability.

Requesting permission to restart the project to increase number of subjects.
==========================================================

I for one have never heard of such a project but then again I'm not in that kind of field of research, I focus on plants myself, But has anyone else ever heard of this project or soemthing like it?

No, my background is engineering and not the genetic type. chuckle.gif Fascinating find though. Any more info on what this GMO organism may actually be? Or any info that could lead you to indulge in speculation?
A quick Google search on Dr. James Abendroth revealed absolutely nada. I'm scratching my head a bit here. A cockroach with a small camera and sensors could conceivably pull off:

"The creation of a living organism capable of surviving in harsh environments without use of protective gear.
Environment examples:
Radioactive zones
Heavily polluted or otherwise toxic locales
locales with limited oxygen"

Not certain why they would need to genetically modify something to do this unless it possesses intellect. Human?

Welcome indeed! cheers.gif I'm impressed you had a floppy drive. chuckle.gif

I'm not familiar with this at all either, but scientists have been interested in extremophiles for some time so it wouldn't surprise me that is what he researched.

I did find some more information out regarding the species that Dr. Abendroth was requesting for hus research, it seems he was using animals for his research but I have located a single file with a description of a human test subject;
====================================================
Subject's Name: N/A
Subject number: 10
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Race: Caucasian
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 123lbs
Build: average

Researcher notes:
██████ known only as Subject 10 volunteered to participate in our research, this came about when #10 found out what our research was involves. His offical involvment began on 05/08/██ in which after joining was put through many experiments to enhance his body's defense against outside elements.
============================================================================
The following is a conversation between Dr. Abendroth and subject 10 logged a week after joining:
============================================================================
Dr. Abendroth: Please state your name.

Subject 10: My name is ██████, my designation is #10.

Dr. Abendroth: Why have did you decide to join our research and as a test subject?

Subject 10 hesitates

Dr. Abendroth: Is there a problem?

Subject 10: Hm? No, there's no problem. I had decided to join your research on the grounds that I could be of use, it truly is as simple as that.

Dr. Abendroth: You willing volenteered as a test subject for research you know nothing of, just so you could…help?

Subject 10: that's correct, I've always liked helping people and if I can help your research succeed then thats alright with me.

-Loud crash-

==========================================================================
The prior conversation was typed out and saved by a third party and honestly it creeps me out,
I will continue bring any information I can find.

Extremely intriguing to say the least. I certainly do hope you can dig up more. Were the experiments actually conducted in BC or elsewhere?

It will end as these things always do ~ the OP will slip up and say something that gives us a peek behind the curtain.
