Dailymail Reports two "giant sprayers" have been set up in the City of Lanzhou, China.
Apparently, the whacky idea is to squirt water 2,000 feet into the air and bring pollution down to the ground.
I'm not so certain this is any type of real solution, it's dubious at best to bring air born particles down to the ground, not to mention, I hope there's an inexhaustible water supply for this.
Granted, they have huge problems. "Earlier this year Chinese scientists said that pollution 900 miles away in Beijing was so dense that its effects were comparable to that of a nuclear winter."

These types of things make me wonder if we can survive our own industrial age.

blink.gif I think there are some other steps to be taken in addition to these squirt guns to tackle the pollution problem.

You think? An ounce of prevention is worth a pond of cure.
This is no cure for anything, more like a big expensive, ridiculous band-aid.

It's not even a band-aid. More of a spit wash around the wound. 13.gif

They have the money because they don't have all those pesky, and expensive, environmental regulations the rest of the world has.

I am speaking of the life of a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers, but borrowed from his children; who has undertaken to cherish it and do it no damage, not because he is duty-bound, but because he loves the world and loves his children… - Wendell Berry, 1971

It's a trade off, the air they breathe is awful. I'm sure constant exposure comes with risk of developing health problems.
