Acetaminophen: This popular painkiller also kills kindness

'If your job, or simply your state of mind, depends on feeling empathy for others, you might want to reconsider reaching for the Tylenol the next time you have a headache.

In research published online in the journal Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, scientists from the National Institutes of Health and Ohio State University describe the results of two experiments they conducted involving more than 200 college students.

Their conclusion: Acetaminophen, the most common drug ingredient in the United States, can reduce a person's capacity to empathize with another person's pain, whether that pain is physical or emotional. '

here in europe we call it paracetamol (chemical name para-acetylaminophenol).
i usually only take meds when i really need them.
and usually i'm so ƒükkêd when i need them that i naturally give a shït about kindness and empathy. chuckle.gif

i think canada finally decided to put warnings on tylenol recently.

my brother's gf.. she told me her mother died from tylenol.

Yeah there's been some deaths even among young people not knowing anything at all, overdosing on it and having drinks on top 15.gif

dr's recommend it.
they give it to you in the hospital..

and at my dr's they have those as samples.
i got a bunch one time from them
tossed em out.

No shït. It's what my mom says, alcohol doesn't necessarily help, but it makes being sick more fun.

I was never sure if painkillers ever worked for me so I just stopped taking them and other meds.blink.gif

I take hydrocodone 7.5 for lung pain when I need it, but it has never broke my give a shitter, if anything it makes me nicer...

Now to much beer I turn into a total asshole.

To much beer in this Indian,I usually get a total ass chewing afterwards.
