Nobody, Has a need to know about anything!
Yeah some things, alcohol, coke and heroin can make you feel like ass coming off of them, but it will pass in a week or two, addiction has become a billion dollar industry, and that's what it's it's all about.
There's a monetary incentive to fill peoples heads with shït.

but as soon as they start controlling us, look out, because then we're playing with fire and flirting with disaster, as i've intentionally done and still do so many times, burning the candle at both ends,
i mean like hey what the f##k, i really like and have actively searched for and enjoyed the darker sides of life and i aint afraid to do them and i aint afraid to admit it to myself or anyone...

I'm out of money i'm out of hope it looks like self destruction, well how much more can we take with all of this corruption"
"Been flirting with disaster you all know what i mean and the way we run our lives it makes no sense to me"
"I dont know about yourself or what you want to be, when we gamble with our time we choose our destiny"
"Cant seem to slow it dow our lives are running faster, got our sights set straight ahead but i'm not sure what we're after"
Almost anything can be an "addiction" but most likely your "addiction" is composed of a multitude of things.
This is just my personal view, any single thing or combination of things that
- distracts IRL interaction with people that are not assholes
- distracts interaction with nature
- blocks creativity
- otherwise results in serious waste of time
should be considered as bad kinds of "addictions" and that is the stuff you want to deal with somehow if you want to improve the quality of your life.
