I've seen thousands of movies...

But only two have given me real nightmares...

The Wizard Of Oz - 1939 and War Of The Gargantuas - 1966

Try laying down and relaxing and closing your eyes in darkness...

While listening to this Akira Ifukube composed music...

Hear how uniquely strange and hauntingly frightening and unearthly bizarre it sounds...

Quite ominous sounding. Composing and pulling off that type of music is difficult. You have to get into some pretty exotic scales that most people don't use.

As much as I love so many different types of rock and roll songs...

Japanese monster movies ruled my childhood and haunted my dreams and nightmares and ignited my imagination...

But it was their unique music that really propelled and carried those films through and lingered for so long in my memories...

That awesome music for so many of the really great classic japanese monster movies were composed and conducted by Akira Ifukube...

What words can I use to try and describe his unique musical compositions?

Haunting frightening brooding ominous foreboding surrealistic powerful ghostly strange unearthly sad bizarre lonely amazing mesmerizing ect ect...

These haunting and unforgettably frightening sounds were composed by Akira Ifukube and created using only musical instruments in 1954...

This needs to be listened to in darkness to really hear and feel how awesome and unique and nightmare inducing it actually is...

LIke wow I just listened (again) to the strange and powerful music score for the Japanese monster movie War Of The Gargantuas from 1966 within the opening post of this thread after not hearing it for several months and it really does need to be listened to within darkness to properly hear and fully appreciate just how haunting and frightening and unique it actually is...
