Amazing New Mexico Halo

A rare 'ice halo' was seen above New Mexico has as the arctic blast continued to make its way across the country, causing temperatures to plummet below freezing in dozens of cities.

The optical phenomenon was captured by Texan photographer Joshua Thomas above the town of Red River - which has experienced sub-zero temperatures throughout the last few days.

The variety of rings and arcs in the sky are formed by light interacting with ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere during the cold weather.

That Town of Red River is AWESOME

Set in a High Alpine Valley , lakes and streams , Pine forest .

The place is Magical .

as the photo shows .

and the lyricist for the Grateful Dead ( Robert Hunter )

lives there .

It a sweet town to just pull into a hang out for a few weeks
getting to know the locals .

It's a Ski resort in winter

and everything during the Summer .

It's a Home Skillet Town

everyone knows and respects each other .

Small enough to keep everyone on their best behavior toward one another

big enough to have some closet secrets

Pretty enough to make ya wanna stay a while longer .

Ya just sit down on a Patio at Sun Down , awesome colors ,,,
and wait a second

soon , people come out and join ya .

you can see the Milky Way at night there .

and ,,, they have Wifi
