PALM SPRINGS — When Michael Boatwright woke up in the emergency room at Desert Regional Medical Center, the nurses began asking him questions for which it became clear he had no answers. The gray-haired, soft-spoken man looked at his identity card and didn’t recognize his own face. He answered only to Johan Ek.

He walked up to the sink, stared at the reflection of the 61-year-old man facing him in the mirror and said he was going to throw up

Though his driver’s license said he was born in Florida, he spoke only in Swedish and said he remembered nothing about his life before.

“The guy Michael — it wasn’t me. I’m still Johan,” he said through a translator in a recent hospital interview, twisting his water bottle around in his hands.

The man was found unconscious in a Motel 6 room on Palm Canyon Drive at noon on Feb. 28, said Lisa Hunt-Vasquez, the social worker assigned to track down next-of-kin information and help to piece Boatwright’s story together.

He had with him a duffel bag of casual athletic clothes, a backpack, five tennis rackets, two cell phones, some cash, a set of old photos and four forms of identification: a passport, California identification card, veteran’s medical card and a Social Security card. Each of them identified him as Michael Thomas Boatwright.

Could Michael Boatwright soul have died and been replaced with this Swedish Johan Ek soul ?

It would be interesting to know if another person was really Johan Ek somewhere else their soles could have maybe some how switched bodies by some kind of strange mistake. Its like something you would see it Star Trek Or he could have had 2 souls in his brain and the Michael soul could have died or been suppressed some how and this Johan took control.

I don't know if this is related, but Mel Blanc once went into a coma, and while in the coma, the doctors addressed him as "Bugs", as in 'Bugs Bunny', who he voiced. By doing this, they were able to lure him out of the coma by talking to 'Bugs'!

Could it have been some form of alien abduction/teleportation/time warp?

Or maybe this will help find an explanation? > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilocation

This actually isn't the first time this has happened to a person. I recall a few stories similar I have heard. One teen went in to a coma and woke up speaking fluent German.

There's something called foreign accent syndrome as well. Where a person goes into surgery or a coma and wakes up with a foreign accent. Both seem real odd, as if perhaps our minds got stuck in another life time or something. One lady went in for surgery and came out with a British accent. Personally if I woke up with a Brittish accent I'd call a speech therapist before a news agency. :-))

I'd find it more creepy to wake up from surgery or a coma speaking some ancient dead language. Or... Perhaps a language from the aliens. :-))
