An Old Friend Called Me Up Last Week...

We were supposed to get together and do a short, comical film on survival yesterday. He texts me and tells me he had to run in to Tacoma and pick up his order..... ???

I dunno... Maybe he ordered a log cabin.

Anyway, he texts me and tells me he had to run and get his order and he would call me in a little while....

That was the last I heard of him until 10 mins ago.

He texts me and says.... "Sorry bro. I came home and passed out on the couch. My wife was tourqued at me too".

I haven't responded yet.

What should I say to him?

Keep in mind, I cancelled a date with my daughters to go hang out with him and this other guy and do a film. Plus I waited around the house all day long until I finally fell asleep at 2am.

His wife is really pissed at him, I guess. She likes me (as a friend) and probably thinks he's an asshole because she wanted to hang out too.

To be honest with you.... I think he thinks his wife wants to sample my wares....

I wonder if she said something to him to make him think...... Naww....

Nevermind.

There's nothing to say. You aren't his dad. But for now on you need to make him work to your schedule. Don't break any more engagements to meet him because you can't trust him to show up or even be responsible, or decent, enough to call. (It really pisses me off when people do that.) Besides, I'm sure his wife is giving him enough shït for the both of you.

I am not your rolling wheels, I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride I am the sky
I am not your blowing wind, I am the lightning
I am not your autumn moon, I am the night

Mmmmm...

Sounds like wise advise. For now, I will just give him the silent treatment.

I always made it a policy to do what I say I'll do. If I'm supposed to be somewhere or call someone at a certain time, you can bet I'll do it.
If I don't show, you know I had an accident, or died.
Most of my friends were the same way as well.
I noticed one thing through the years though, when it comes to ask someone to give you a hand with moving, that's when you find out who you're real friends are.
Amazing how people get the flu, fall and hurt their backs, or have relatives that die on moving days. coffeetime.gif

I'm the same way.

Why is it so hard for people to be responsible?

In fact, when he texted me the first time, I was in my truck and already on the way.

I knew the day was doomed at 1 pm and I hadn't heard from him.

That's when he usually starts drinking...

chuckle.gif Oh... drinking... yeah. That explains it. I don't do that if I have something else going on. Plenty of time for that in the evening if I choose. doobie.gif works well for those that just have to get ripped and still function normally.
All my stoner friends were always pretty dependable.

Drunks are not very dependable.
