Anybody ever Play With an Ouija Board and if so, Any Strange Experiences?

Most paranormal researchers advise against the casual use of the Ouija board, suggesting that it can be a doorway to unknown dimensions. “The board itself is not dangerous, but the form of communication that you are attempting often is," says Ghost researcher Dale Kaczmarek of the Ghost Research Society. "Most often the spirits whom are contacted through the Ouija are those whom reside on 'the lower astral plane.' These spirits are often very confused and may have died a violent or sudden death; murder, suicide, etc. Therefore, many violent, negative and potentially dangerous conditions are present to those using the board. Often times several spirits will attempt to come through at the same time but the real danger lies when you ask for physical proof of their existence! You might say, 'Well, if you're really a spirit, then put out this light or move that object!' What you have just done is simple, you have 'opened a doorway' and allowed them to enter into the physical world and future problems can and often do arise."

But what if the Ouija really does not contact spirits? What if it only accesses our own subconscious? The advice might be the same. Since there are realativly few accounts of positive, uplifting experiences with the Ouija, and many negative ones, we might assume that it more attuned to the negative aspects of our subconscious.

If you're determined to use the Ouija anyway, it is highly recommended that you follow some rules of precaution:

Begin by announcing that the session will only allow an experience that is positive or toward a higher good and that negative energies are not welcome.
Don't ask for physical signs.
When you're done, close the board. This is an important step. When you're done with your session, slide the planchette to 'GOODBYE' and remove your hands.

Yes I've tried it, I wouldn't call it play though. damned.gif

Funny too I found it up on the attic in an old house from1700s where I was working at the time. Like a real horror flick setup. uhoh.gif

Well, I tried it with the woman I was working for and did contact some entity, got a name and all, but it was not frightening or anything, it felt absolutely benign. Haven't done it after that, I just don't think it's a good idea to mess with those things.

Interesting post AK, oddly I don't think we've ever had a thread discussing this. Right off the bat from my own personal experiences, I'd recommend staying the hell away from those things.
A neighbor girl and I played over the course of a few days. A "spirit" contacted us that called themselves ULYSSS. 13.gif It was kind of a joke at first, and a few evenings into it things took a turn for the worse.
First off she asked for another sign of communication bedsides the board, no sooner did she ask than pounding on all the windows in the house started, naturally we flipped and stopped playing got up to run out the door and we couldn't get out of it, it was stuck in place. damned.gif
Then the candles in the room went out, and though we couldn't see we could hear the damn plastic heart moving across the board. Just as we were about to start pissing ourselves I finally got the ğkking door open and we never did touch the damn thing again.
I completely lost all interest after that, not to mention I didn't really believe in that type of thing so it really dropped the bomb on my view of reality.

Way cooler to listen to than to have actually had it happen you, that's for sure. A friends aunt was the local "fortune teller" and I had to ask her about it. She said basically the same thing that OP's post said. When MJ said can you show us a sign other than the board, the doorway was opened.
Made the hair stand up all over my body. She added thankfully she didn't sense it around me at all, but she said it was possible it could have stuck around MJ who opened the door.
Like I said, that was my last experience with those things, no desire to have contact with "the other side" in any form.

So me and my best friend expirienced some pretty scary things while using the Ouija Board. First, we asked it it’s name. It replied “Marnin.” Then, we asked when he died and the board said “1923.” So then we asked if it would be nice to us, and it replied “no.” We asked “Why?” The board said, “for revenge.” So we asked “Why do you want to get revenge on us?” The board said, “Because Tereasa killed me.” Turns out, Tereasa is my best friend’s name who was sitting here with me talking to Marnin. We asked the board what Tereasa’s last name was that killed him, and the board replied, “Johnson.” Then, Tereasa started freaking out because that was her last name. So, me and Tereasa went to the park, a few miles away. We buried the board in the sand at the park. Little did we know, that was worse then talking to the board. That was 3 years ago, and we still have wierd things happening like:
Doors slamming, people claim to see a man (who could be Marnin) standing over right where we buried the board that was a ghost like figure, and the scariest thing that’s happened, was that sometimes, me and Tereasa get messages wroten with dark green colored pencil on a lined sheet of paper, hung with one piece of tape, saying, “Why?” or “I’m here.” We also hear voices saying “Marnin.”

I have had many bizarre experiences with Ouija boards and I am writing this as a warning to people that bad things can happen because of these “portals.”

During my experiences with Ouija boards one particular spirit always seemed compelled to make it’s presence known. It’s name is ZOZO. Today I refuse to even pronounce it’s name as I believe the mere pronunciation of it can cause it to manifest itself.

Too many times to count, it has at first pretended to be a nice spirit, or pretend to be whomever I was trying to contact. But eventually it showed it’s true self, cussing me, threatening me and others present in the room. Once it actually cussed me using what looked like Latin or Hebrew, and using biblical terminology. I was genuinely fascinated and startled by how many times ZOZO showed up, even in many different states and many different Ouija boards. It always wound up being very nasty and commented freely about how it wanted to posses my girlfriends and take them to paradise. When asked where paradise was, it spelled H.E.L.L.

One time after ZOZO was being extremely evil, I walked into my bathroom only to see my 1 year old daughter about to drown. Her mother had left her alone in the tub “just for a second” and somehow the water got turned on and was overflowing. Instinctively she had her face tilted up and was seconds from going under when I grabbed her from the water. The next day she was hospitalized for some weird internal infection and was put in isolation for 14 days straight as doctors tried to diagnose the illness. We almost lost her, and that was when I began to suspect demonic attack.

At this same time my girlfriend maintained a “trance like” state. Her personality changed from a very sweet person, to withdrawn, and uncaring. ZOZO said before this that it was going to possess her and eat her soul. I was recording music for a future rock project and I remember jokingly asking if it had an opinion on what I should name the band. It spelled IRON TONGUE, which at the time I thought was pretty cool, only later when my daughters tongue swelled up in the hospital to the point of asphyxiation I realized that this wasn’t cool AT ALL! Her tongue became rock hard, and distorted her face, swelling up to where it hung grotesquely from her mouth. We took turns bedside at the hospital for what seemed like forever before my daughter began to recover from this strange affliction.

When guests would spend the night in our house they would claim that they heard frightening voices coming from inside the walls. Objects would be thrown across the room, and spiders seem to come from nowhere. My girlfriends brother whom lived with us complained that he couldn’t sleep at night because the “conversations” were so loud that he simply could not rest. He believed in ghosts, and though he wasn’t afraid of them, he said that it definitely felt demonic. Lights would come off and on by themselves, doors would open and unlock themselves. One night in our bedroom a viscous laughter emanated from thin air, and to this day I cannot explain the terror in that laughter. One night I was awakened by what felt like hands on my throat choking me. I could not breathe, I could not scream. After about 30 seconds it released it’s grip and I gasped for air. The same thing happened to my girlfriend the next night.
