A show rabbit breeder in Pennsylvania is suing a French gas exploration company for using low-flying helicopters she said terrorized her prized animals, causing many to die and leaving survivors unable to breed.

Deafening noise from helicopters flying over Susan Knowlden's mountain home in Trout Run, Pennsylvania, in search of shale gas deposits, sent her skittish rabbits into a frenzy, she told Reuters on Thursday.

“It scared the you-know-what out of them,” Knowlden said. “They hit the sides of their cages and trampled the babies. They broke their necks or backs or legs.”

Horrible stuff, our puppy is scared to death of thunder and jets, and these F18's fly right over our house several times a week, sometimes Monday through Friday.
It's a real PITA, he's going to end up dead of a heart attack, and there's little we can do.
Melatonin can be effective to a degree, but not quite enough.
Was curious, does anyone's puppies/kitties have bad reaction to certain sounds?

my older dog [15 yr 5 mo] sees 'thing(s)'
always looking up the stair-case at her 'friend(s)'
and... there is a real-swampy region at forest preserve.. she barks like she's really frightened; looking straight into the heart-of-the-swamp at an 'apparition'???
i say, "go away..." to make her feel better, but as we walk away she cocks her head back to keep-an-eye-on whatever it is damned.gif
