OK...this is getting a bit creepy.

Seems like there's been a surprisingly stationary
arc of Aurora Borealis to the NNW, hanging there
for the third night in a row just now. Gets brighter
towards the North.

JR, Octo, go out and have a look see if you can.

Never seen that before.

Oh wow, haven't noticed that. We may have to take an evening walk with Mason. We don't really have a good view in that direction as tall trees stand in the way as you know. Thanks for the heads up. We have to check it out.

Oh wow, yes we saw it. Very strange, it was like the lights moved within the arc, but the arc itself remained static, just like you said.

We went into the woods to try to see it more clearly, but night clouds swept in in the most fantastic leopard skin pattern so no loss in any sort of way. It is a beautiful night.

It is most certainly not a "borealis arc".

We did see it from the backyard before the clouds rolled in. Cold front tomorrow, going to drop from 23 to down around 16 for highs.
Autumn is on its way. uhoh.gif

This thread reeks of disinfo. There are 2 "unknown" bright spheres in our sky, each about 50 degrees to the left and right of the sun. They are most obvious when it is cloudy right before and after sunset as a dim orange glow behind the now ubiquitous sunset clouds.

Reeks of disinfo? chuckle.gif Why is that? Try come look at things at our latitude. And yes Accidental Stoner is a real life friend and we live in the same town not too far south from the arctic circle so we really witnessed the same thing.

And you bring in orbs? lmao.gif

More like planets, comets, Brown dwarves or our binary twin, take your pick. There's so much disinfo being shoved down our throats on sites like this one that the unwashed masses won't know what's really in our skies and how to best prepare until it's far too late.

That's when your brain should kick in and tell you to educate yourself.

Planets? Comets? Sure, they are there, but so was the northern lights we were talking about. In fact this thread was about them so wtf are you on about?

if you folks were truly skywatchers allowing your brains to kick in. there are a few much more obvious objects in our sky. for instance right now, look to the NNE. You'll notice a large cluster of very bright clouds with a dull orange glow surrounding it. Any of you resident "awakened" people that go out of your way to try to relabel the mysterious as the mundane are immediately suspect, in the same ilk as Astromut, DrPostman et al. Here to control the message for those of us that shun Fox and CNN.
