Just out of curiosity i googled gun shop in my city, cause i have never actually ever seen a gun shop or an ammunition shop, anywhere, in my entire life, thats how foreign it is here, and i have lived all over the city and suburbs, and its the largest city in OZ, so i live in the inner city and the nearest gun shop is 20 kms away hidden in suburbs i have never been to..

Burp..

They tightened the gun laws over here after some school shootings coincidentally. Now you have to have your parent's blessing to own a gun if you're under 18.

İmage

That cant be real..

It's not. Neither Labute Penitentiary nor Deacon County Texas exist.

That's odd, because I was listening to the radio interview in the car. That's quite a hoax and I am surprised CBC reporters fell for it.

A little gun hysteria perspective:

When I was in high school most people came to school with high powered rifles and shotguns in their vehicles and there were seldom ever even fights at school. Ban the guns and people start shooting up the joint.

I am not your rolling wheels, I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride I am the sky
I am not your blowing wind, I am the lightning
I am not your autumn moon, I am the night

Quote:If satire had an Olympics, The Onion might have won a gold medal this week. The satirical news source announced that its Sexiest Man Alive for 2012 is Kim Jong Un, North Korea's Supreme Leader.

"With his devastatingly handsome, round face, his boyish charm, and his strong, sturdy frame, this Pyongyang-bred heartthrob is every woman's dream come true," the news service wrote below a photo that showed the 29-year-old leader in his high-collared, blue party suit — the Communist Party — on a reviewing stand.

"Kim made this newspaper's editorial board swoon with his impeccable fashion sense, chic short hairstyle and, of course, that famous smile," they wrote. Although in the photo, Kim Jong Un looks as stern as Stalin.

But The Onion's ardor was so persuasive that the official Chinese People's Daily English language website not only ran the "Sexiest Man Alive" dispatch word-for-word, but added a 55-photo slideshow of Kim, riding a gray and white stallion and touring factories.

If that's supposed to be satire, it's a piss poor job.

'This Is That is a current affairs program that doesn't just talk about the issues, it fabricates them. Nothing is off limits--politics, business, culture, justice, science, religion--if it is relevant to Canadians, we'll find out the "This" and the "That" of the story.

Each week, hosts Pat Kelly and Peter Oldring introduce you to the voices and stories that give this country character in this 100% improvised, satirical send-up of public radio. '

My mistake, I must have tuned in the radio at the onset of the interview not realizing it was satire, and they were conducting the satirical interview in the most serious manner. Sure, it came off as very odd to me, but then the subject was muricans and their guns and rights...so, I now have an understanding of what the people listeners to the war of the worlds radio broadcast of 1938 felt.
