State therapy specialists claimed Jacob Barnett would never tie his shoes, read or function normally in society. But the boy's mother realized when Jacob was not in therapy, he was doing "spectacular things" completely on his own. She decided to trust her instinct and disregard the advice of the professionals. Instead of following a standardized special needs educational protocol, she surrounded Jacob with all the things that inspired passion for him - and was astonished at the transformation that took place.

By the time Jacob reached the age of 11, he entered college and is currently studying condensed matter physics at Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis. According to an email Professor Scott Tremaine wrote to Jacob's family, "The theory that he's working on involves several of the toughest problems in astrophysics and theoretical physics ... Anyone who solves these will be in line for a Nobel Prize."

It should be recognized that mothers are in fact experts when it comes to their children whether they like it or not.

I find this story fascinating. A mother just up and decided 'no' they're wrong and wouldn't medicate her son into a vegetable. hi5.gif when he was 12 his prof.s were preparing him for his Phd. Wow.

It's excellent. For one I didn't have special needs kids thank freakin god. Second, if I did, I'd do anything. Anything. Except meds.

How many parents do you think went through the motions and medicated their kids?

Einsteins IQ wasnt very high in comparison to some of the people like Goethe Swedenborg Pascal Leibniz Ramanujan Davinci and others who towered over his mental capabilities and surely theres many people out there past and present whos genius was and will never be known and realized because they didnt and dont have access to proper education and higher academia...

yup.gif That's more common than you think, funny as well... the best musicians are janitors or painters or something totally unrelated.
They are far more worried about visuals and someone they can promote based on looks and those chosen will reciprocate by doing whatever they are told.
My point is there are so many out there that never get a break.
