WOW!

Is the huge opening in his chest from being run over?

Doesn't appear to be tire marks? but I can only imagine that happening from the crushing weight of a car on his chest causing him to split open? looks like he was alive when they brought him in with the vital monitoring pads stuck to him. ...hard to imagine anyone with a wound like that surviving long enough to even make it to the hospital.

Too bad he didn't survive and just have his legs ran over requiring amputation.

They wouldn't have opened him up like that to massage his heart for resuscitation would they? looks messy but there appears to be iodine stains on the skin just around that wound.

I was already thinking about sending the pic to my brother and sister who are both medics and have experience from the postmortem department.

and one would expect a lot more blood around the wound on that side. I bet that was hastily done by er technicians.

He was laying face down with that bloodied shoulder on the ground in a pool of blood likely from that bullet would.

Can't tell by looking where he was ran over.

It more or less follow the angle of the ribs they would go inbetween and would probably have to split that long to open him up enough to get a hand in there and it does look low enough for them to have to get in under the lung to reach the heart.

No need to send it to any medical experts.

I've already figured it out coffeetime.gif

I would think they cleaned the area around the wounds meticulously to study the injuries. What I was thinking was that yellow around the large cut was from iodine, but do you use that on a dead body? I seriously don't know.

Judging by the size of the opening it would seem there was a spreader put in there.

Even if he was crushed I would think there would be other indications and the wound wouldn't stay open like that unless his whole chest was crushed.

If he came in looking like that he would have already been dead.

Nope, there would be no reason and I could think of no reason those wounds would need further examining.

What? To grab their heart?

I would think reaching up under the rib cage would be the way to go

The bottom line is why worry about infection on a dead person? This doesn't set well with the logical portion of my brain. 13.gif

According to the media he died at the hospital so there's a chance they tried to work on him for a bit. I would imagine you could see traces of clamps and stuff on the skin if they did though...Dunno, I'm not trained in these matters. Would be nice if someone who knew this stuff could chime in.
