Well the answer to that question is no.
Nothing is produced with the idea that it should be purchased or used by people who can't afford it.
I didn't go to work and make industrial tools with the idea that we would give them away to people who can't afford to buy them.
There is also no such a thing as basic.
I didn't go to work and make a basic wrench...
Or a basic brake pad, or a basic washer machine.
I made products with all different levels of investment by the company to meet different needs by different customers.
None of it was ever branded as not good enough or too basic.. to come with a price.
Something that is basic is something that somebody went off half c0cked in their garage, and tried to make while pretty badly equipped. Or something that.
If I were to make truly "basic"... Anesthesia..
That works in theory, would you want it ?
