Quote:Death to America (Persian: مرگ بر آمریکا Marg bar Âmrikâ) is an anti-American political slogan and chant which has been in use in Iran since the inception of the Iranian Revolution in 1979

Quote:The 1953 Iranian coup d'état, known in Iran as the 28 Mordad coup, was the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran Mohammad Mosaddegh on 19 August 1953, orchestrated by the United Kingdom (under the name 'Operation Boot') and the United States (under the name TPAJAX Project).[3][4][5][6]

Mossadegh had sought to audit the books of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC), a British corporation (now BP) and to change the terms of the company's access to Iranian petroleum reserves. Upon the refusal of the AIOC to co-operate with the Iranian government, the parliament (Majlis) voted to nationalize the assets of the company and expel their representatives from the country.[7][8][9] Following the coup in 1953, a military government under General Fazlollah Zahedi was formed which allowed Mohammad-Rezā Shāh Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran (Persian for an Iranian king),[9] to effectively rule the country as an absolute monarch. He relied heavily on United States support to hold on to power until his own overthrow in February 1979.[7][8][9][10] In August 2013, 60 years after, the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) admitted that it was involved in both the planning and the execution of the coup, including the bribing of Iranian politicians, security and army high-ranking officials, as well as pro-coup propaganda.[11][12] The CIA is quoted acknowledging the coup was carried out "under CIA direction" and "as an act of U.S. foreign policy, conceived and approved at the highest levels of government."[13]

IOW, after the oil companies were stolen from their owners by radical moslems, the US deposed those thieves and put someone in power closer to our own national interests.

Keep in mind that the area had no oil production facilities prior to them being set up by corporations from the UK. Persia was a backwater desert without the water. Should the companies allowed audits to take place? Absolutely.

Did the moslems steal the company's assets? Absolutely.

There is nothing new to murderous dictatorships in that part of the world, so the Shah was nothing new other than not being a moslem extremist.

When the Shah fled, the nation fell back into the hands of people whose main goal it is to bring sharia law to the world. So even though they got their country back, they are STILL at war with the US many decades later.

Sorry, but I'm not going to side with those moslem terrorist interests, nor do they get any sympathy from me. Nor should the US give them any either, They are at war with the US and are waiting until the day they can more fully execute that war by deploying EMP nukes.

As much as some people hate the US, without us the world would be a much more treacherous place, and sharia law and moslem tyranny would be spreading much faster than it is now. The world would be under constant wars from the Middle East, China, Russia and N. Korea.

Neither Russia nor China would stand by if the US were wiped out by Iran because both would feel deeply threatened by the moslem insane asylums such as Iran and would respond with great vigor to neutralize them, ie, kill as many hundreds of millions as they possibly could.

But you might get your wish. With Obama in the WH, Iran's fortunes and goals are much more achievable. If Iran succeeds and nukes the US, the losers won't just be us. The whole world will suffer immeasurably, including Europe and Australia.

Thus you might want to keep in mind that as much as some folks might dislike the US or even hate it, that doesn't make Iran a plus for anyone. No one in their right mind should be sympathetic to their oft stated goals to destroy Israel and the US. You really don't want them succeeding in their goals.

Imagine if any country had a national holiday called "Death To Iran." No doubt you would feel that such a holiday would be absolutely intolerable. Yet, we can apologize for Iran's holiday?? I don't think so.

Pray for me. hug.gif

I can't believe that guy won again. And he's no Churchill. If you want an Israeli example of Churchill try Golda Meir. Now that was one hell of a woman.

I can see by your coat my friend you're from the other side. Just one thing I got to know. Who won?
