Bold experimental treatment uses form of HIV to kill cancer

A bold experimental treatment has finally succeeded in accomplishing a goal that has eluded doctors for decades: it has trained the immune systems of cancer patients to search out and kill cancer cells.

The New York Times reports, in a novel twist, that the doctors used a disabled form of HIV-1, the virus that causes AIDS, to deliver the new genes that would program the person’s own cells to attack the cancer.

The University of Pennsylvania doctors have tried the experimental treatment in three leukemia patients, two of whom went into full remission and one of whom has had a partial remission in which his leukemia

Hey I saw that on Swedish news as well. Pretty amazing results.

But yes I really hope they know what they're doing.

doctors actually knowin what they are doing is like yankees going to a bar and ordering milk. never gonna happen

i did see on the tube here that the latest test subject is an 8 year old girl who appears to be doing fine, hope she lives a long and healthy life

Nowadays i think cancer patients (And many others) they only need to search the internet and stop allowing doctors to poison them (And not to mention their kids).
