I have found what I was looking for, I'm not worried about death or judgement.

I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this earlier (well, not really). I tried a search for an update on this, but haven't found anything beyond the original article and rewrites. The translation in the article is terrible. The ravine was not reported as 200 metres wide, and the pics confirm this. but what it actually said was that the source of the Moosquito River was altered by 200 metres.

I would definitely say that this was the result of the activities of man. Note, the article mentioned investigating the soil for chemical and toxic contamination. This part of Brazil is really in the middle of nowhere and it is like the old wild west, where laws are meaningless. Foreign multinationals have come into Brazil and raped and polluted the land with no thought or regard for the damage they are causeing, it's not their back yard, after all.

I tried to post a comment yesterday, but received a timed out message so gave up. Today I copied my comment before posting and again received a timed out comment. What's up with this?

3rd time lucky?

Sinkholes all over the world, earth splitting in Africa, South America, new land masses popping up in the South Pacific
Fukushima hasn't let up on its slow radiation spread
Rocks are crashing almost daily now

Yesterday we were down for maintenance a few times. We had that time-out problem as well. Hopefully it works better for you today.
