North Korean army says it has final approval for nuclear attack on the US, the official KCNA news agency says. This comes shortly after the Pentagon said the US military prepares to deploy an advanced missile-defense system to Guam.

"The merciless operation of (our) revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified," AFP cited the statement published by the local news agency.

North Korea's supreme military command has issued a statement saying it formally notifies the White House and the Pentagon that their threats would be "smashed by... cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means".

Pentagon has earlier said the US military prepares to deploy an advanced missile-defense system to Guam to defend American military bases in the Pacific as a "precaution" following North Korea threats.

The DoD has announced that top defense officials approved the deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System, or THAAD, which includes a truck-mounted launcher, interceptor missiles, a AN/TPY-2 tracking radar and an integrated fire control system, Reuters reports.

"The United States remains vigilant in the face of North Korean provocations and stands ready to defend US territory, our allies, and our national interests," a Pentagon spokeswoman said.

It has been stressed that the future deployment of the system is for protecting American interests in the region and will not reach South Korea’s territory.

The Pentagon said the batteries, which according to advocates will cost up to $800 million per battery, will be deployed in the coming weeks; however, no exact date was given, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The Pentagon initially considered the deployment of the first of the batteries in 2015, however, recently escalated tensions and threats from North Korea have influenced the plans, forcing the Defense Department to rethink its intentions.

The United States sees a "real and clear" danger from North Korea, given its nuclear and missile capabilities and bellicose rhetoric, US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said earlier Wednesday, shortly before the Pentagon's statement.

North Korea has recently threatened to target US and South Korea following new UN sanctions and joint military drills by the two allies.

Guam has become the most important US military base in Asia, housing its major airfield and an incoming contingent of US Marines.

It's been predicted that a Third World War would be started not by a super power. Iran is to educated and aware of its political and financial power. North Korea on the other hand has nothing. Which is why it is the logical choice to be a military aggressor. Thanx to the U.S. Foreign Policy. What exactly is the US's problem with North Korea?. Dont get the wrong idea, I'm as much a capitolistic western pig as any other, but what is the root of this battle?

I'm no history expert, but i think that japan invaded and took over the country of korea before or during world war two...

Then russia attacked the japanese troops who were positioned there as the united states was also moving closer towards japan from across the south pacific and then japan was defeated when the atom bombs were dropped on them...

After world war two the country of korea was divided up into a communist north and non communist south and that was a grave mistake that would cause the sh#t to hit the fan someday and it did a few years later when a china supported north korea invaded the south which caused the korean war...

Then during the korean war five star general douglas macarthur wanted to bomb china and north korea back into the stone age,so future generations of people wouldnt have to live their only lives worrying in fear about exactly what we are living our only lives worrying in fear about right now...

So the united states president harry truman fired macarthur for wanting to do that, another grave mistake and then the korean war ended in a cease fire thats lasted for several decades, but now the sh#ts about to hit the fan really hard this time...

Now china and north korea both have nuclear weapons...

Thanx truman,thanx a f###en lot......

North Korea just wants more, looking for a bigger handout is all. What worries me is with their limited technology those dumb asses may fire a missile and it hits Japan or somewhere by mistake starting a war. coffeetime.gif

If north korea launches any nuclear missiles they wont be by mistake and as far as I know they can only be intentionally launched and the last place on earth I would want to be living right now is seoul south korea, who could suddenly and horribly be joining hiroshima and nagasaki...

That's not what I said..."What worries me is with their limited technology those dumb asses may fire a missile and it hits Japan or somewhere by mistake starting a war."

Meaning they intentionally fire a missile and with their limited technology end up hitting something they did not want to hit.

An unexpected asteroid strike could start world war three...

Any asteroid that approaches earth from the direction of the vast area near and around the sun is undetectable from ground based observations...

For one example of many,if an asteroid suddenly slammed into a large city in pakistan, the trigger happy nuclear capable pakastani military and political leaders would probably instantly assume they were struck by a nuclear missile launched from india and they would retaliate with a nuclear counter strike against india and then world war three might be unleashed...

In reality that type of scenario involving those or other countries could happen any day or night of the week,as the recent unforseen russian asteroid proves...

Theres also the terrible possibility that a nuclear capable country could intentionally launch a nuclear missile and purposefully slam it into a heavily populated city and instantly kill millions of people and then tell everyone that an unexpected asteroid impact was the cause...
