Terrible. but they seem to have vaccines from other countries that work...and they attribute the spread of disease due to warmer weather.

Angora harvesting is horrible, no matter how "humanely" is done

Why do you say that when they obviously aren't feeling any pain?

Maybe it has something to do with this:

Quote:In 2013 several clothing retailers suspended the sourcing of products containing angora wool after video evidence surfaced of live rabbits with their paws tied being plucked raw in Chinese fur farms. Major retailers that banned angora products in response to welfare concerns include Gap Inc., Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, H&M and Esprit.

Well, of course that is cruelty, but it has nothing to do with the harvesting method I posted via videos, which is to brush the first coat (no longer attached) from their new coat.

If people have objections they should explain in detail as to what exactly those objections are, not just put out blanket statements,

Don't buy cheap angora products from China.

Angora bunnies need to be brushed regularly anyway so I don't see why you couldn't make yarn out of it.

But commercial angora I'm sure is produced very differently.

Exactly, the same could be done for long hair cats and dogs that need brushing daily.

Why do you say that when they obviously aren't feeling any pain?

They are completely stressed out by the procedure. They can have heart attacks strokes, and just die.
Any other bunny advocate can confirm to this. They shouldn't be submerged in water or kept on their backs for any length of time.
Moronic Facebook videos of bunnies in water, on wheels, or being humanely sheared, are completely misleading.
I've done bunny rescue for years. We are a fanatical bunch
