CBS anchor Scott Pelley said at a speech at Quinnipiac University that journalists "are getting big stories wrong, over and over again."

"Our house is on fire," said Pelley. The video of Pelley's speech is courtesy of nowthisnews.com.

"These have been a bad few months for journalism," he added. "We're getting the big stories wrong, over and over again."

The CBS newsreader was quick to take at least partial blame. "Let me take the first arrow: During our coverage of Newtown, I sat on my set and I reported that Nancy Lanza was a teacher at the school. And that her son had attacked her classroom. It's a hell of a story, but it was dead wrong. Now, I was the managing editor, I made the decision to go ahead with that and I did, and that's what I said, and I was absolutely wrong. So let me just take the first arrow here."

And Pelley said the republic relies on the quality of the news business. "Democracies succeed or fail based on their journalism," said Pelley. "America is strong because its journalism is strong. That's how democracies work. They're only as good as the quality of the information that the public possesses. And that is where we come in."

It's interesting how Pelley trivializes the real story.

Did he get Gosnell wrong? Benghazi wrong? Fast and Furious wrong?

Who the fuck knows because they pretty much refuse to cover these stories. What's wrong is two generations of leftist commie reporting, spinning every damn story to fit their agenda.

Let's make 5G safe by installing zirconium ceramic bricks to the cell masts. It will save the providers billions of dollars quickly by reducing interference.

Can you ask yourself "Why do I love discovering how my protons can experience Loving Kindness?"

They don't cover these stories because the govt gags them . The govt and various other agencies don't want their dirty laundry aired .
Big pharm pays huge bucks to major news agencies ,to make sure they never report on true drug dangers.
How many drug commercials do you see, during a one hour show ?
No one wants their sponsors taking money away from them ,so they keep mum on lots and lots of stories .
Pharm is just one example

I agree except to say that the media is just as evil as the government. It is they who are the most influential in getting the government that we have.

The drug industry problem goes back to the Flexner report from nearly 100 years ago at the behest of Rockefeller and his ilk.

No news is good news...

They've been getting the weather mostly wrong for years and years...

So why not the news as well...

"We" know what 'They" want us to know...

What we are told and shown isnt the entire truth about anything...
