I'm too busy to provide the links, but they are out there. The CDC gives an update every Friday. They call it a second epidemic because the strain is shifting from the H1N1 to the H3N2

You'll probably hear about it at the local level especially if you're in a city affected by 5G because those are the places where the flu has hut hardest. The flu has hit 26 million here in the US, but those are only the reported cases. People who stay home and weather the storm on their own aren't counted.

Also the CDC revises their numbers upwards each week due to lagging reports.

The new strain can be riskier, as it's more likely to produce pneumonia.

The percent of positive specimens increased by about 4% even though the doctor visits for the flu dropped from 5% to 4.7%.

There are two factors that might have impacted that drop. Much of the US was buried in thick ice and snow. An internet friend told me it was so cold in WI that he couldn't get inside his car for several days due to the thick ice on it. If you can't get in your car and you're too sick to dig it out, that would lower the visits among the very sick.

Secondly, the temperatures dropped below the levels where the flu can infect. This is probably why states like WI and MN had lower reported flu levels for the week.

Yes, but you can reincarnate as an alien on another planet, so it's not all bad.
