Kavanaugh admitted he is pro-life but we all knew this as do the protesters. One step forward, two steps backward.

Quote:Durbin went on to say that the protests inside the hearing room were justified because there was “real, genuine concern about [Kavanaugh] changing life-and-death values of this country.” He added that “over and above all those things,” there was outrage that President Donald Trump was “contemptuous of the rule of law.”

"This is the noise of democracy".

I don't understand this pro-life vs against-life(?) debate or how it would affect his work as a judge. He seems capable from what I've heard.

He is a very religious Catholic, so tell me Octo do you actually believe he can turn that off?

"not sure that all legal scholars refer to [Roe v. Wade] as the settled law of the land," - said by Kavanaugh in 2003. I see where this will be going.

But here a few tidbits.

Quote:“Kavanaugh is an ideologically driven pick designed to create an activist Supreme Court that will undermine rights and protections for women, LGBTQ people, immigrants and all vulnerable people,” GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis wrote in a statement. “Americans do not want or need 40 more years of Trump’s values.”

Let's make America like the 1950's again except this time everyone should be able to have an assault weapon, unaffordable care and sitting presidents should be above the law. But, when this guy is questioned today he won't admit to any of his true core values. It will be the usual BS, 'tell 'em what they want to hear'.

So, as I predicted he is saying what everyone wants to hear. However, he may follow precedent re: roe vs wade but in the end he feels he can decide what is or is not 'undue hardship or burden' on a woman.

Quote:This is what Kavanaugh himself did during his 2006 confirmation hearings to the D.C. Circuit Court: When Sen. Chuck Schumer asked his opinion on Roe, Kavanaugh dodged, responding that he would “follow Roe v. Wade faithfully and fully” because the case is “binding precedent of the Court,” but refusing to share his own view. While Supreme Court decisions are indeed binding on lower courts, the Supreme Court can overturn itself, and Kavanaugh has shown that he’s not sympathetic to abortion rights. Kavanaugh has applauded the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist’s view that “unenumerated rights could be recognized by the courts only if the asserted right was rooted in the nation’s history and tradition,” — in other words, that rights which are not specifically granted by the Constitution must at least have been traditionally accorded to the American people. He believes Supreme Court precedent already conflicts with itself on this issue – a perfect opening for overturning Roe. And he also heard an important abortion case when he was on the D.C. Circuit Court, and held that the government was not imposing an “undue burden” on an undocumented teenager by not letting her terminate her pregnancy in a timely manner. (That decision was overturned, and Kavanaugh vigorously dissented).

Omg
You are so thick.

You don't know anything about American politics.

Hell, the Libtards in the Senate don't even know legal protocols.

All they can do is piss and moan like the losers that they are.

Trump poll ratings are at 40% the pissing and moaning goes far and wide it appears. It also appears you don't know very little.

Great sentence composition.
Try learning English if you want to debate with it.

Yes, I believe he is that professional. He wouldn't have got this far in his career if he hadn't been.

He went far because he worked for Republicans who shared his religious beliefs. Anyway, this is an agenda-driven nomination and he will get the job as per usual.
