In 1988, during the waning days of Iraq's war with Iran, the United States learned through satellite imagery that Iran was about to gain a major strategic advantage by exploiting a hole in Iraqi defenses. U.S. intelligence officials conveyed the location of the Iranian troops to Iraq, fully aware that Hussein's military would attack with chemical weapons, including sarin, a lethal nerve agent.

The intelligence included imagery and maps about Iranian troop movements, as well as the locations of Iranian logistics facilities and details about Iranian air defenses. The Iraqis used mustard gas and sarin prior to four major offensives in early 1988 that relied on U.S. satellite imagery, maps, and other intelligence. These attacks helped to tilt the war in Iraq's favor and bring Iran to the negotiating table, and they ensured that the Reagan administration's long-standing policy of securing an Iraqi victory would succeed. But they were also the last in a series of chemical strikes stretching back several years that the Reagan administration knew about and didn't disclose.

The old double standard as usual. The US has convictions of convenience. It cares nothing about human rights abroad or at home unless there are 1.resources, 2. drugs or 3. some method with which to prop up the petrol dollar.
Then they get all human rights and holy than thou to justify whatever atrocities they want to inflict on whoever.
It's predictable as a morning piss. 13.gif
The US has no moral authority on which to make war. Snowden did a lot of good in that regard - exposed them for what they really are and it ğkking nauseates me.

Hussein made the grave mistake of switching off the petrodollar. As did Gaddafi. Saudi Arabia, however (officially behind 9/11) has not. lol. Syria is next and within 2 weeks. What Russia does or doesn't will say lots.

As close as I can tell, Qatar wants the EU gas market that Russia currently pwns. Syria is the key, Turkey is obedient. As long as LNG is priced in US$ the US will back them. As soon as Qatar or S.Arabia hint going off the petrodollar, the US and UK will find an evil dictator to remove. And good little lapdog Harper, with Canada's reputation in shreds, will be panting on their heels. What a clusterfuk.

iagree.gif The petrol dollar is the entire basis of US foreign policy. Absurd to go to war with every country in the middle east for this, considering there are other ways.
A gold and PM standard, land standard, and it's recently been shown the US has more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia. http://www.forbes.com/sites/energysource...rabia-but/

As it was during world war two and so why the hell didnt the united states military take over all the middle eastern oil fields while we already had millions of well trained and battle hardened troops and a virtual limitless supply of weapons already within the same relative areas?!

Because the united states from the summer of 1945 into 1949 was the only country who possessed the atom bomb as well and could have easily taken over the middle eastern oil fields perhaps without firing a f###en shot and any mild resistance that any muslims may have offered would have been even more easily crushed and brushed aside...

But ahhh doing that would not have fit into the overall plans or the royal bloodline elites and their new world order...

So we've been kissing the financial a$$es of the terroristic and suicidal muslims because of their natural resources that already should be ours...
