I just tried to watch the documentary 'The COVE'.
It is just too appalling.
So why don't you guys watch the whole thing and tell me how it ends.
It's about Taiji, Japan, the annual slaughter of up to 23 000 dolphins
(the specimens they can't sell to Sea World type establishments), and
the activists who are trying to put an end to the nightmare.
A live dolphin is worth serious €...a dead one, sold as meat, a few
Ric O'Barry is the guy who once, in the 60's, captured and trained
the dolphins who played 'Flipper' in the smash hit idiot box series
- it was my personal second-only-to-Batman favourite -
that sort of started the whole unholy, evil business.
He has been trying to make amends almost ever since.
Deep respect to him.
Always knew there was some evil shït behind keeping wild animals
in prison - no matter how cute it might look.
Still couldn't bring myself to watch the whole movie.
Had no idea of the utter brutality of it :(
Not to be heartless; it's a shame about the innocent folks and the
children, but...there sure is some bad-ass karma going around.
(That Taiji place seems to have taken a hit from the tsunami...)
Let's just say my sympathy towards the human race took a bit of a dive.
Ask me again tomorrow, when I have calmed down.
Now back to the regular nuclear doom programming,
carry on, please.
