Ignorance of the law is what happened. The gov assumes that because you have a birth certificate that you are a public person. But what they don't tell you is that because you never signed for one, nor were given full disclosure, that you are not public, but private. Your NAME as pwned by the gov is public but you are private. And that's the premise of the refusal to opt out of smart metres. had I joined the class action lawsuit, I would have waived all my rights to BC Hydro by declaring myself public.

Head of the Crown corporation, looking down upon the world.

A new official portrait of Britain's Queen, painted by Australian-born artist Ralph Heimans, has been unveiled.

The painting, ‘The Coronation Theatre, Westminster Abbey: A Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II’, is the latest portrait to be commissioned by the Queen and depicts her in the Sacrarium of London's famous abbey.

Queen Elizabeth is pictured wearing a State Dress beneath the crimson velvet Robe of State, which she wore to her Coronation in June 1953, and which she has worn to the State Opening of Parliament each year for the last 60 years. Her diamond necklace and earrings were made for Queen Victoria who wore them for her own coronation. The monarch stands at the centre circle of the Cosmati pavement, on the exact spot where she was crowned.

...Richard Sporley, a medieval monk of Westminster, wrote “The primum mobile means this world, whose age or ending the writer estimates, as he imagines it, by increasing the numbers three-fold”. So a hedge lives three years, a dog nine, a horse twenty seven, a man eighty one and so on. The final date is calculated by a chronology based on the mythical life-spans of animals. And he explains that the macrocosm is “the great world in which we live”, the microcosm being man. The ‘spherical globe’, he says, is “the round stone, having in itself the colours of the four elements, fire, air, water and earth”. According to the only medieval interpretation we have, the pavement thus symbolises the world, or the universe, and its end.

The pavement has recently undergone a major cleaning and conservation programme and was re-dedicated by the Dean at a service on 21 May 2010. http://www.westminster-abbey.org/our-his...avement...[/quote]

I see the link with what I wrote was broken. Here is another one It's called the Cosmati pavement http://www.westminster-abbey.org/conservation

Central Roundel
What the queen is looking down upon.

The Central Roundel is part of the original scheme dating from 1268. This stone roundel was obviously chosen for its spectacular appearance. It is at the very heart of the pavement and is thought to represent the earth at the centre of the universe. The stone is a travertine calcium carbonate known as Alabastro fiorito, a fresh water limestone from hot spring deposits and from the Roman site of Pamukkale in Turkey.

BC Hydro was by today to read my metre (which is digital, not analogue as I thought previously). I see a white pick-up drive into the ditch then bounce up onto the driveway across from mine. Has a BC Hydro logo on the door. The phone rings this guy says he's from BC Hydro, asks if I'm home, I said "Yes, I just watched you drive into the ditch" lol. So he says he needs to read my metre, I said no problem, just let me pen up my dogs and I'll open the gate. He brings a tablet and flashes it at my metre (reads the bar code) then explains he can turn off my electricity whenever he likes but the sign I have posted ( It reads "NO SMART METRES") is a problem. I just said I've chosen to be a private person not a public PERSON and he smiles and leaves.

What bothered me, is I said I'd open the gate, but I no sooner penned my dogs then he opened the gate himself (and closed it too, for which I thanked him) and walked right at me. Got my hackles up so I walked right back at him. Body language. He was no metre maid. coffeetime.gif

Usually every two months though they haven't been for a while, I know because I do my own meter reading and what they bill me for is an estimate. I don't use a lot so can understand their billing when they estimate high. I hear they're going to charge those without smart metres $20/mnth for metre reading. Which i'd pay rather than have a smart metre but still don't think I should. It worked fine before, killing jobs doesn't fix what isn't broken. But I've always had plump pleasant female metre readers, this guy was young extremely fit and Hispanic. dunno.gif
