Quote:A Canadian shipment of relief goods bound for storm-ravaged Oklahoma has been stopped at the Canada-U.S. border in Windsor, Ont.

American officials will not allow the 20,000 kilograms of food, blankets and diapers into the country until every item on board is itemized in alphabetical order and has the country of origin of every product noted.

If nothing else this may serve to highlight the stupidity of bureaucracy.

I hope someone with power there reviews the label requirements, or at the very least streamlines the process so that those relief goods' labels that pass their laws can go through immediately... and keep the rest behind. I know they must ensure safety because there's so much crap from other countries that we must keep on top of it.

See, that would have been immediate help for those in need. We can't allow that. Canada should have sent "money" to the red cross, etc., so FEMA could more easily aid people with it................after 5-10 years maybe!

Sometimes you just have to wonder at the stupidity of the US.

The blankets probably were stuffed, that's why proper labelling would be required. But, yeah somewhat awful, however they could streamline the process for faster release. But, transporting food would be the most troublesome.
