...and herpes and I'm sure a myriad of other ills that we have yet to discover, but the medical profession is just beginning to use it.This is great news.

Hospital doctors are to treat patients with cannabis (hemp) in a world first for Greater Manchester.

Experts believe the drug can relieve pain by numbing muscles – and say it does not give users a 'high'.

It is the first time the drug has been used in a hospital anywhere in the world,

Patients at North Manchester General and Fairfield in Bury have been prescribed Sativex – a medication derived from marijuana plants. They will spray the medication under their tongue up to ten times a day.
Quote:
People who are terminally ill with cancer will initially take part in the trial but if successful; its use could be extended across the country and used as a painkiller for other conditions. 800 people have already been signed up, and 320 others will be recruited over the next two years.

Quote:Hemp is medicine for the masses and no one has the right to control its use. We are all different and we all have different tolerances for practically everything. So it is up to each and every one of us to determine for ourselves how much oil we require to maintain good health.

In the News:
Under Cuomo's plan, 20 hospitals across New York will be allowed to prescribe marijuana to patients suffering from cancer, glaucoma and other serious diseases that meet standards to be set by the state Department of Health, the newspaper said.

Cuomo's executive action does not require legislative approval, but instead relies on a provision in a state public health law that allows for the use of controlled substances for patients with cancer and other serious illnesses, it said.

But if you use too much, it'll make you go blind...oh wait it's something else that makes you go blind if you do it too much. Never mind. chuckle.gif

Sativex is a combination of MJ compounds instead of being synthetic which means Sativex might actually do the job. In addition to feeling better, they might even find patients recovering from their cancer. It depends on how much they also poison the patients with chemo or radiation.
