Dear Congress, Last year I mismanaged my funds and this year my family and I cannot decide on a budget. Until we have come to a unified decision that fits all of our needs and interests, we will have to shut down our checkbook and will no longer be able to pay our taxes. I'm sure you'll understand. Thank you very much for setting an example we can all follow.

Four months a year only includes income taxes. Add in sales taxes and various fees and it is much longer than that And don't forget all the taxes that were charged along the way to grow or create and transport all those things you are paying sales taxes on. Did I mention property tax?

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

Property taxes really burn my ass. More than even scorpion peppers. You work your ass off sto make money. The fed and state gov (And in some areas, county.) tax the shït out of it. If you work overtime they jack you up at a higher rate. (There's your encouragement to get ahead little peon.) Then you take what is left of your income to go buy shït (RIP Mr. Carlin) like a home and car. (Let's not mention how important these things are for your continued contribution to society.) When you buy these things, you get to pay sales taxes on them. Then, after you have already paid all those taxes, you get to keep paying taxes in order to continue owning those things...

Sometimes I think our property owns us we don't own it. Then I remember, it's the government and banks that own us not our possessions. It's having possessions that make us the property of the banks and gov., Cynical Absurdance gets it.

But US property taxes blow me away. Not as much as US health care horrifies me but close.

Yes and inheritance taxes, the money has already been taxed. A friend of mine refuses to pay taxes on his used motorcycle he bought in 04 as taxes have already been paid by previous owner. He rides it with last plate of 2004 and never gets pulled over. However he did the same thing with his used Corvette and finally got a ticket, think he was fined $200 for it.

What pisses me off is the idea of keeping track of your mileages and paying a tax on that. State Inspections record mileages and a tax imposed on mileage driven. To me this is a slap in the face as the State Governments are losing money from lessening gasoline sales. People are doing what the government asks which is conserve fuel so doing what the "Government" wants we are going to be paying higher fuel taxes.

State Inspections are like $38/year now and if your vehicle does not pass then the shop will gladly fix it----for a price. Just wrong...
