That's the kicker. That's the little add-on they use to create a distraction out of fact. Has the climate been warming? Well, hell yes. That can't be denied. But it isn't man made. We are coming out of an ice age. The planet is naturally warming. Need evidence? Look at the thawing tundra and melting ice flows and glaciers. It's happening. Gradually. Sure, there have been record winters. That is to be expected. What causes snow? Humidity in warm fronts being hit by cold fronts. Warmer climate means more evaporation. More evaporation means more humidity. Warmer, moister air being hit by even typical winter temps means more snow. The same is true for thunder storms and twisters. (No, not snow and not titty twisters...) Even slightly greater differences in high temps means more turbulent storms. That's why Tornado Alley has so many bad storms. Cold air rusher down from the Rockies and hits that hot air and BOOM! Watch your winter storms and you will see that the worst storms are caused by warm fronts from the SW clashing with cold fronts from the W/NW. Again, the greater the temperature difference and humidity levels the greater the storm.
So, why all the debate? To distract from the billions it was about to cost the big corps to refit their pollution spewing death factories. The yelled, "Hey, look! Man made global warming!" and the world quit focusing on pollution. The clean ai, water and soil acts of the 60's and 70's gave them a certain amount of time to clean up their emissions and time was quickly running out. Their options? Spend billions refitting or move over seas. They obviously chose to move. The problem with that was getting rid of the import tariffs. they needed a distraction to buy them time to get rid of the tariffs and then move operations to union free countries that didn't give two shits about pollution of labor laws.
Once again they used bits of truth stirred into a pile of shit to create drama. We loves us some drama.
I am speaking of the life of a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers, but borrowed from his children; who has undertaken to cherish it and do it no damage, not because he is duty-bound, but because he loves the world and loves his children… - Wendell Berry, 1971
