At 1:45, the newscaster states that a crane collapsed onto the fuel rods. This is MOX fuel, meaning they damaged rods that contained plutonium. sad2.gif The implications here are simply awful.

I know, I can hardly believe just how damn bad this is going to get quickly.

Just when you think it couldn't get any worse, they raise the bar. damned.gif

Mind numbing isn't it? sad2.gif the bad news in that vid doesn't stop. And it isn't like there's a safe place, we're all going to be affected by this.

Not to make things worse, but was the crane that fell the one that was holding the water cannon that was cooling the rods?

For sure, we can kiss things as we knew them goodbye. Can you imagine what it would do to food prices and quantities if suddenly we had to import everything from Southern hemisphere?

Water anyone?

I of course, have no idea how bad things will get, but this has frightening potential.

Maybe it's time to start a survival thread with ideas and info on what's safe, what isn't, and the best ways to go about surviving this. Food, water, radiation levels, how to detox...

Never mind, I broke down and watched part of the vid. It was the crane that used to transport the fuel. Whatever that is.

Did you notice the vapors spewing out of the containment housing of reactor #2? You can see it when they first mention the crane and have the camera pointed through the opening in the roof. The chick gets very hesitant/quiet when she mentions that part. It's about 1:30 in.

edit:

Decided to keep watching... At about 5:40, the "expert" talks about reactor #4. He says that the good news is that there is no fuel in that reactor , but then says that the good news also is that the fuel is submerged in water?

A survival thread would certainly be in order Shadow.

Kreeper, when they showed the yellow containment vessel with the top blown off and vapor coming out our jowels dropped to the floor.

This is beyond bad.

Yeah. it sounded like the lid was opened for inspections and then the crane fell on it. I guess they can't shut it now.

I moved this down from an edit I made in my post above.

I played that part over and over, she said it had been opened for inspections...then left open? Then she says (translates) not likely it was opened by the explosion, yeah right. That's the lid of the spent fuel pool. We're being served sieverts of bullshit.

sad2.gif Bullshit indeed. If this does not expose the overall ineptitude of mainstream media, then nothing will.
It's right here on video and yet, find an article on it?
