Quote:Snelling is a prominent young-Earth creationist. For years, he has given lectures, guided biblical-themed Grand Canyon rafting tours, and worked for the nonprofit Answers in Genesis. (The CEO of Answers in Genesis, Ken Ham, is also behind the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter theme park.) Young-Earth creationism, in contrast to other forms of creationism, specifically holds that the Earth is only thousands of years old. Snelling believes that the Grand Canyon formed after Noah’s flood—and he now claims the U.S. government is blocking his research in the canyon because of his religious views.

This is what the flood geologists have to say about it.

Quote:While many sedimentary rock layers do cover vast areas of the continents, no single layer covers an entire continent from one end to the other as the flood geologists imply. Rather, the rock layers overlap one another like leaves piled up on a lawn. Rather than finding evidence of one massive deluge, geologists find abundant evidence of multiple periods of rising and falling sea level that varied by as much as 120 m higher or lower than at present.[5] It's the combination of low-standing continental crust and high-standing sea level that results in these sedimentary layers. -

I spent years studying geology, and there are anomalies that can not be explained all over the planet. Let's just pretend The GC was an ancient mining operation, because that's the only thing that can explain it.

One uranium mine is located just six miles from the Grand Canyon's south rim. Just to throw that out there. http://www.grandcanyontrust.org/uranium-mining

Belief is a powerful thing.

"From a biblical perspective"...so where is the science?

Also the contradictions in the Bible are not taken into account here, such as:

"How can we reconcile the secular history of the world with what the Bible clearly teaches? Using God's Word as authoritative, we know the pyramids of Egypt couldn't have been built prior to creation. Also, they would not have been built prior to the Flood as they would have been destroyed."

Very high levels of uranium there. It sure as hell was not not mined for gold.

Just for the record, the earth being 6,000 years old is absurd.

More like:
2 Peter 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

That was my understanding and I'm not even religious.

My mother who is a wise woman thought we should decide religious things ourselves as we grew to understand things. It's why I'm not a member of any church
