Ravens (no crows here, but ravens) are awesome, I was feeding them but the kookaburras hate them, they steal their eggs/hatchlings so I had to stop, gotta keep on the right side of all the bird here, I live in the country part of Aust.

Sorta cool eh? Ravens here tease my dogs all the time. They fly low and slow acrosse the yard with the dogs barking, chasing. then they'll sit on a fencepost until the dogs get bored then fly low and slow across the yard lmao.gif they've learned to trigger street lights. The sit on the light sensors and trigger the light on when it's cold.

edit

Chihuahuas? lmao.gif

From the pic below, I'm sure it's a crow.

Crow vs Raven

İmage

That's a wonderful story and a very rare occurrence. Most motherless feral kittens would not survive.

Oh it's a crow, but I'm in Tasmania, we only have ravens here strangely, smart bird family but yeah other birds hate them because they'll eat the young of other birds, even tiny birds chase them off.

No, I don't think they exist outside of here, white ribbbon, smart birds yeah, but other birds hate them, similar to the crow/raven family. Cannibals!

Yes we do have magpies, I haven't seen any here in my little valley but often in town and up in the hills. Noisy things and very smart. We have Whiskey Jacks (related to Magpies), here's one sitting on the handle bar of my sled

İmage

They'll land right on your hand and take whatever you feed them.

yuh, I've had to stop feeding the birds this year, they fly into the house, then I have to shoo them out, the dogs don't like it and uh they should be finding their own food and fighting their own wars. I only feed the native hens here, and they only ask for food if they're shunned because of a leg wound. I fed one all autumn and her/his leg wound healed so he got accepted back into the pack, a lot of them end up as road kill so the pack needed more members.
