Did Chris Christie's GWB Scandal Eliminate Him from the GOP Nomination?

I'm certain you've all read about the GWB scandal. If not here's a link newyork.cbslocal.com

What got me is:

Quote:During a previous news conference, Christie had called a Democratic-led state investigation into the incident politically motivated and joked that he had personally put up traffic cones to close the lanes.

Was that appropriate? In retrospect, no. No way.

My point of this thread is, does anyone think he's make a good GOP nominee?
My gut says no, and it's partially because of his gut.
If he can't control what food he sticks down his neck, how the hell can he control the US?
If he can't control his staff around him, how can he control the office of the President?
Something tells me, if he receives the nod, it's another McCain, Romney in the making.
It seems as if the GOP doesn't really want a President from their party in the Oval office.
Anybody else have extreme reservations about this guy?

iagree.gif The Dems and the Repubs love how the status quo fills their wallets so much, that they are actually moving even closer together to keep the "evil" tea party away.
I think most people grasp what's going on.
We'll get four more years of the same thing regardless what side of the aisle the next president comes from, unless it's a tea party candidate.
There's been no significant difference from the Bush administration to the current one. The names and faces may change, but the agenda is the same.
I'm burned out on this, never stopping to find ways to hurt those that are not already in jail scam.

The scandal isn't bad enough yet to keep him from getting the nomination. It may get that way, we will just have to see. NO one is perfect and we shouldn't keep looking for perfect. Crisis is an opportunity for change. I think this may cause him to be a lot more judicial in his dealings with everyone. He has shone that he can work with people and find compromise. I'm not ready to say he shouldn't run.

However the media saying that he is the front runner in the GOP is just wishful thinking. I don't think he has a chance in hell of getting the nomination one way or another. The scandal won't have anything to do with it.

The Tea Party wants someone that agrees with them on everything and that person can't win in the general election.

At this point, if nothing changes, Romney is my bet to get the nomination again. He will be the last man standing, just like before.

I was just looking for a link to Romney's legal woes and you posted it. If you know where a link to that is JB, please post it.
I concur, Romney wont run. The last election took the wind out of those sails.
I read where McCain is considering a run. lmao.gif Snowball in hell, the Dems could beat him with virtually any candidate.

The scandal won't get him and not releasing his tax returns will be old news. The only reason he won last time was because the Tea Party ran everyone else off and he was all that was left.

The polls showing Christie beating Hillary are meaningless if he can't get the nomination.
The Tea Party has made it clear where they stand "Winning is not as important as being right." I don't see any change yet. The mid terms may give some light to what's going to happen.

One of the comments from your article jb:

John McNamara
Rank 272

This isn't a RICCO suit only the feds can file them this is a plain old civil suit. Anyone can file a suite against anyone else the trick is to win and collect, we'll see how that goes. the headline is false and it looks lik it's already been thrown out of court once. "The Delaware Bankruptcy Court Justice Mary F Walrath refused to address issues that Plaintiff Haas alleges are frauds upon the court"

huffpo says: Romney's and Bain's lawyers say he was not involved in the company at the time of the deals covered by the lawsuit.

But I still don't think he's going to toss his fine glazed porcelain hair in the ring under any circumstances.
