Oh yeah...once as a kid I was walking tightrope style across a fence. I slipped and fell split legged and really rang my bellboys. Another time or two was on a bicycle peddling as fast as I could and slipped off the peddles. It was one of those times I wish I was riding a girls bike.

Uhmmm...not really. The Apostle Paul taught it in several of his letters that are included in the canon of scripture, in particular, Thessalonians. It was also taught in the first centuries of the early church, before the church (of Rome) became the government sponsored ~ then it wasn't so popular to peddle anything antagonistic to earthy rule/control. (Sound familiar??)

Wayne ~ you know that even kittens won't save this thread?

İmage

Dont you think Jesus would've maybe mentioned when teaching the signs of his return? When they mention being taken its refering to Jews being taken from Jerusalem. Context is always key.

Regardless if you believe the bible or not thats what it says. I know you guys are going to try and make jokes but know ahead of time I dont care how much you hate me for it.

It takes a while to get to the point because everyone is at different places on their path of discovery. If it was just you and me JB we would be there by now.

The first century Jewish wedding.

Ok the first century Jewish wedding. Stick with me it will make sense later. I'm leaving out a lot because it doesn't help the story. But through out the New Contract (new testament) the Rapture is symbolized in the ceremony.
And the secret is in the stories about the ceremony.

It starts with the Betrothal. The girl the guy both parents get together and decide on a price for the girl. In this case Jesus pays with his life. Then they drink on it with a cup of wine, last supper cup of wine, get the connection?

Then the guy returns home to build a place for the girl BUT he doesn't know when he's finished, his Father has to tell him "looks fine, your done."
"I go to prepare a place for you" "No one knows the day or the time except the Father" Fits right in so far.

When the Father says "looks fine your done" the guy, groom, sets out down the road to the bride's house. His friends line the road saying "Here he comes!"(paraphrased as usual) He skips the front door, climbs through the window and right off of JB's site:

The word rapture comes from the Latin rapere, meaning, "to seize" or "to abduct." It is translated from the Greek word that is rendered "caught up" in English Bibles today.

He abducts her. Then they go back to his Father's house and have a long party, seven days long. (seven years of tribulation?)

So far so good. Next part: The Ten Virgins.

Sorry...I just can't take any of "it" to seriously and just try to stay clear of threads like "it"...but when I saw rapture it was just to close to rupture to not have a smartass comment. If it gets you happily through your life and helps those around you...have at it.

No apology is necessary. If the thread isn't interesting to read it has no value at all.
