Do you aspire to be a servant of Jesus ?

In this thread John Prewett mentioned the word 'servant' at least 12 times, it's what people do when they want to influence an audience, they focus on a word or phrase.

I'm aware that most members here are anti-Christs and/or atheists but still I am willing to do my part of  my beliefs and be a 'servant' of Christ. Don't blame me for taking some of your space, but it's what Christians are supposed to do.

I am sure you've heard of the word evolution, and more than the word itself, that you have some proven examples of things that you are sure that have evolved. Don't you think that there is and will always be continuous evolving in literature and words? I am sure that the word 'servant' in The Book of Revelations does not mean the same as you want to understand it. For John and in The Book of Revelations the word meant a disciple, a messenger of Christ.

If in a write up you meet the word 'date', how would decide to understand it? Is it the one you will make with Angelina Jolie, or is the one in the fruit family?

Instantly in my mind comes these words that have multiple meanings:
crane: date: engaged: foil: leave: net: point: right: rose: type: ....... and of course there are loads more.

Also of importance for the interpretation of scripture is the fact that the author of The Book of Revelations names himself in the text as "John", but his precise identity remains a point of academic debate.

Modern scholars state that nothing can be confirmed about the author except that he was a Christian, they characterize the author as a figure whom they call "John of Patmos" not John the Appostle and that is the most possible theory.

To end this up, I understand that the scripture was written by the third-persons, and reporting what you hear can sometimes mislead in what you write. There are words that sound the same but of different meaning, and as I write I hope I have no bad spelling of the sort.

have I used any of these words?

I concur, the word "rapture" never even appears in the Bible. coffeetime.gif
As close as it gets is:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. - 1 Thessalonians 4:17
Sounds far more like live people are being "beamed up" somewhere, it's pretty obscure.

I've seldom seen a more incoherent nebulous post.

For the record: Paul is writing about the end time of ancient Israel. Not about OUR end of era scenario, which is revealed only in the Revelation. Chapters 13->forward.

Can't argue with what and what you have not seen,
but it's probably because a mind set is not open for discussion.
