It took the mighty minds and resources of WIRED, YouTube, Stan Winston Studios, Legacy Effects, and Conde Nast Entertainment to create an insanely detailed, one-of-a-kind, 9 foot 9 inch Mech with four arms to usher in the 2013 San Diego Comic Con. And who better to announce it than Adam Savage, of Tested and Mythbusters. It is ready to blow your mind. And coming soon to YouTube's Geek Week ... a huge mini-series showing how this colossus was built.

He doesn't look like a keen kisser, but I bet he'd be more than willing to use those robotic grippers right away. damned.gif

They're creepy because they have no soul. damned.gif

On the other hand, people that supposedly have souls are responsible for some of the most horrific atrocities.

If one of those came walking into my backyard I'd be plenty creeped out even if I'd never seen any TV or movies.

I wouldn't sweat it. Hollywood only influences me on robots, due to the simple fact I sadly have no real life experiences to base it on, and only a handful of people out there actually do.
I do however have plenty of experience dealing with spam bots, and they don't scare me so I suppose the thread title could be construed as irrational, or even - god forbid; sensationalism. coffeetime.gif
my bad lol.
