Since 2004, EA games has run a simulation of the Super Bowl using the latest game in the Madden NFL series and announced the result. The game simulations conducted by EA have correctly predicted eight of the last ten Super Bowl winners. They were incorrect in 2008 and 2011, in which wild card teams won in real life. EA also releases a computer-generated description of the simulated game as if it were a summary of the real Super Bowl. The results of the simulated and actual Super Bowl games are listed below.

From hothardware.com:

If you're a fan of the Seahawks, don't go drowning your sorrows just yet like this editor did when his New England Patriots came up short in the AFC Championship. For one, Madden NFL 25 didn't take into account Wes Welker dropping key passes, as he likes to do in the Super Bowl (yes, I'm bitter). Secondly, a computer simulation run 50,000 times by Prediction Machine's Predictalator has the Seahawks emerging victorious, beating the Broncos by a score of 24-21, CBS News reports.

Madden Super Bowl

That represents an average of all 50,000 simulations, in which the Seahawks won 54.8 percent and the Broncos coming out on top 45.2 percent of the time. For what it's worth, the Broncos are favored by most sports books by 2.5 points.

"Since Week 2 of the NFL season, the Predictalator’s projected Super Bowl every week was Denver vs. Seattle. To add to that, both of these teams were more than 50 percent likely to make the Super Bowl for all but two weeks in that stretch as well, a feat rarely seen by any team in any week before the playoffs started in the last decade (let alone two teams consistently)," said Prediction Machine’s Paul Bessire.

When everything goes according to conditions that a computer can compute...it seems to work out. But...throw in the human blunder factor and the simulations turn into the lost in space robot...THAT DOES NOT COMPUTE...THAT DOES NOT COMPUTE.

Anti Seahawk fans where banking on a Bronco whoopin of the Hawks...but like I'd said before...Vegas odds makers were no dummies and kept that line at 2.5-3 the whole time which in betting is pretty much a pic em. Now on to bigger and better things. Ooops...can't do that yet as Seattle has just started to celebrate.

Also...for those into numbers. The first score of the game was 12 seconds into the game. The run back for a touchdown in the second half was 12 seconds into the half. It was the 12th man winning the game 9 - 8. yay.gifyay.gif

AND ANOTHER THING...thanks to all the gracious non winners. I can't call them losers as they didn't cry, whine, UNfriend people, wish a fiery death on the Hawks and make veiled threats against posters here. Fortunately there was only one REAL LOSER here and apparently he's not so Jolly after all.

A lot of people lost money on this game, that's for certain. I was hoping Manning could eek out another SB ring before retirement, but I guess that wasn't in the cards.
Just looking forward to next season and hoping the Bucs get some good draft pics and hoping Indy can take it to the next level.
Luck is formidable now, but give him next year and I believe we're looking at a potential trip to the bowl. cheers.gif
