There are a lot of lies out there.
There is also a lot of truth out there.
Simply being on the internet does not make it a lie.

In fact, both versions of the Einstein story are on the internet. Does that make both versions a lie? Much of what we were taught in the days before the internet, and indeed since, was a lie. People were stuck in "stupid assed confusions" well before Al Gore invented the interwebs. There is no refuting that. Also, being written on paper does not make it true either.

The difference between the onset of the internet and the burning of books in days past is that the burning of books was a war on thought. When the books were burned there was nothing else. The books aren't being burned today. They are merely being replaced. The knowledge is still there to be found but at a much faster rate than ever before. We have access to far more knowledge than at any point in human history. The war on thought today is the refusal to explore your thoughts and clinging to old ideas.

That said, I don't care either way if you believe the video I posted. I didn't produce the video and I don't have a dog in that fight. I merely watched it, found it interesting and posted it for others to watch and form an opinion. That is the reason I wrote the thread title as a question. My issue was not whether or not Einstein was smart. That doesn't affect me one way or another. But if it offends your notion of history then good. Much of what you were taught was a lie.

My issue were the instant, closed minded dismissals of the video without even watching it. Why? Because it might expose someone you admire as a fraud? Have you ever heard the adage that you should never meet your heroes? There is a reason for that. Nine times out of ten you were convinced your hero was worthy of the moniker when in reality they were walking piles of shït.

Yes, they examined Einstein's brain. Did you stop to think that it was because they believed the lies also? Or maybe it was true. I can't say. I didn't know the man. Did you?

Question everything.

Huh?
Way I see it, Kreeper didn't "glorify" the internet at all.

Me, I think of it as a library with a free communication
channel that is not yet quite hooked up to the

at the old brick & mortar book library too, y'know ;)

Exactly. History books are full of lies. Science books have been full of lies. Biographies have been full of lies. Etc. As is the internet. It is nothing more than a tool. There are people that will believe everything they read and there are those that won't believe a thing. Some won't even bother with trying.

The internet is a tool. Nothing more.

After all these years it is easier to discern potential truths from lies. Are any of us 100% accurate at that?

No.

And I don't claim to know anything for certain. I have even stated here at KB that I can't even prove that I even exist at all.

All I did was post the video for people to watch if they had an interest.

I wasn't even directing my comment about dismissing it at any particular person. But since it seems to be bothering you so much and you are rightfully concerned with discernment of the truth, how can you decide if the video presents facts if you refuse to even watch it?

Maybe it can be discussed and found lacking.

Maybe it can be discussed and found factual and enlightening.

Most likely it will contain truths and falsehoods.

The point is that you won't know unless you watch it.

Again, all I did was post the video for your consideration. Watch it. Don't watch it. It's not like we can change history. The most we can gain from it is to learn to open our eyes and learn to question everything.

Take it for what it is, a video. No offense intended.

You do realize you are defending a know wife beater who abandoned his wife and children just after their third child was born and never supported them, right?

I am discussing what I believe to be a wrong train of thought that you are on and it just happens to be about Einstein, so what? I am discussing whether or not he should be credited for his theories, not about his personal life.
