Yeah I'm afraid Failboat is going to move to a Lapland wi-fi hotspot and live happily ever after. chuckle.gif

edit to say: this is my first marriage too, but any relationship is sacred to me.

No I was never married before this. I was in a 'marriage like relationship' which is a legal term in Finland chuckle.gif

Just curious Octo, do you find a difference between common-law marriage and marriage with vows spoken?

Are you saying that in both your relationships that certain vows were spoken and kept?

Psycho idiots don't usually advertise their psychosis before the wedding, Haven't you said often enough you wed a psycho?

I seriously can't remember any vows in front of god and everyone in either relationship. It's between the people involved imo.

But you signed papers and that makes the government the elephant in the bedroom.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I can't see two people just stepping into a living together situation actually exchanging any type of vows and promises to each other...for life.

We did and I'm glad to have those papers beercheer.gif

The ceremony itself took 2 minutes and 38 seconds chuckle.gif

If I knew then what I know now, I'd make the vows but never sign the papers.

My other sisters say the same thing. chuckle.gif They both have been married before and said never again. They are happily cohabiting with guys they love now and all is well.

I on the other hand was cohabiting for 17 years without seeing any need for marriage.

As JR came here from outside the EU and how difficult it is to get a residence permit it was not a freaking difficult decision to get married. We did it specifically for the paperwork.

No that's not true. anon.gif He proposed and I accepted even before I had seen his picture. damned.gif
