These may actually be the most profound lyrics about reality ever written...

For what could be the most hauntingly beautiful song ever made...

Dust In The Wind - Kansas - 1977

"I close my eyes, only for a moment and the moment's gone
All my dreams, pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind, all they are is dust in the wind"

"Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do, crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind"

"Now, don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away and all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind, everything is dust in the wind"

I find the song monotonous dreary and uninspiring.

How about something fun?

This aint a happy thread but hey...

Anyone can post anything they want...

"All we do,crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see"

"Refuse to see"

In other words denial...

Of a reality thats too horrible for most people to face...

So instead we blindly focus our attentions upon wide screen televisions and shiny cars that assume an all consuming greed driven importance...

Materialistic illusions and delusions that only wither and fade and return back into the star dust from where they came...

Just surrender a few moments of time some clear night and look up into the star filled void of ancient light we call outer space and easily see and realize how its so obviously true that everything is nothing but dust in the wind...

1. Huge chunks of the universe (the degenerate matter in black holes - on its way to being converted to energy) are permanently off limits in the dust category.

2. My favorite Simon song is something else:

3. As far as reality - the first realistic horror film

I watched that sensible horror film trailer last night. As I have some issues with stupidity in horror movies I found it refreshing.

Entropy...Chaos...Eternal breakdown of matter...

From ants to stars everything begins to decay and die as soon as it is born...

So everything really is dust in the wind...

"You must have been kissing a fool" - George Michael

"Nothing really matters anyone can see" - Queen

"You must be blind if you cant see this gaping hole called reality" - Stereo MCs

Quote:Entropy is also a gauge of randomness or chaos within a closed system. As usable energy is irretrievably lost, disorganization, randomness and chaos increase. All things in the observable universe are affected by and obey the Laws of Thermodynamics.

"There's a club if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own and you go home
And you cry and you want to die"

"What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt"
